Social Media Responsibility

Social media is a powerful tool, and when not used properly can lead to problems.

As parents we see our kids are involved in multiple group chats, Tik Tok, Snap Chat, Facebook, and Instagram. These platforms can feel unregulated and like the Wild West for kids to post on impulse without stopping to think, before they do.

There are plenty of good things about social media — but also many risks and things kids and teens should avoid. They don’t always make good choices when they post something to a site, and this can lead to trouble.

Posting photos, videos, and comments online usually can’t be taken back once they’re posted. Even when kids think something has been deleted, it can be impossible to completely erase it from the Internet. It’s so important for kids to think and make the right decision before they click on “POST”.

Engadine Dragons JRL will be holding Social Media Responsibility talks with our boys and girls from U11s – U14s at the club house.
